Device Overview

The Huawei OptiXstar EG8145X6 represents the Wi-Fi 6 generation of FTTH GPON terminals, offering wireless throughput speeds up to 3000 Mbps.

It features four GE ports, one POTS port, one USB port, and 2x2 MIMO on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands.

Its enhanced CPU handles hardware-accelerated NAT routing for gigabit residential broadband plans without throughput degradation.

How to Connect (Physical & Network Setup)

Insert green SC/APC optical connector into the optical port. Connect PC to LAN1. Ensure PON LED blinks while ranging and turns solid green when registered with the OLT.

Step-by-Step Configuration Steps

1 Open http://192.168.100.1 in your browser.
2 Authenticate using carrier technician credentials or the credentials printed on the bottom label.
3 In the WAN configuration section, verify or create the Internet WAN interface with appropriate VLAN tag.
4 Bind LAN ports 1 through 4 to the WAN interface.
5 Under WLAN settings, configure Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) parameters and WPA3 security.
6 Under LAN > DHCP Server, verify IP pool distribution and DNS servers (e.g. 1.1.1.1, 8.8.8.8).
7 Click Apply. Test speed and optical power under the Maintenance tab.

Verification Step

Inspect the PON light: solid green indicates OLT authentication. Check Status > WAN Information for valid IPv4/IPv6 address.

Firmware Note: Wi-Fi 6 (AX3000) ONT supporting 160 MHz channel bandwidth on 5 GHz.
